UnitedHealthcare (UHC) is finalizing a new agreement with New York Presbyterian Health System (NYPHS).
Should an agreement not be signed, NYPHS will no longer be participating in UHC’s network effective October 31, 2026. Empire Plan members may be able to continue care with NYPHS beyond October 31, 2026 under Continuity of Care. To confirm if a provider will remain in-network with NYPHS or to inquire if a treatment qualifies under Continuity of Care, Empire Plan enrollees should call the NYSHIP toll-free line at 1-877-7-NYSHIP (1-877-769-7447) and press or say 1 for UnitedHealthcare. Representatives are available Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET.
UHC always covers any medically necessary emergency services for Empire Plan members, no matter where they receive care.
Services Not Impacted
Please note that current negotiations do not impact any services covered under the Empire Plan’s Hospital Program administered by Anthem Blue Cross (Anthem). Hospital services as covered under Anthem will continue to be in-network at NYPHS.
